Bison > Ground Beef

Bison is a great healthier alternative to beef and is widely available in North America. You can find it by the ground beef in superstores or at your local butcher.

  • Bison is a leaner red meat.

  • It has around 25% fewer calories.

  • It's lower in fat and saturated fat.

  • It's more tender meat.

  • It's more sustainable meat and is grass-fed.

  • Bison is flavorful meat. It has a lighter and slightly sweeter taste compared to beef. It doesn't have a gamey taste.

  • 16oz package bison meat

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp chopped onion

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • Pinch of salt

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with nonstick spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix until well-incorporated.

  3. Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, form meatballs. Roll into balls and place on a prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all the meat is used.
