Bison is a great healthier alternative to beef and is widely available in North America. You can find it by the ground beef in superstores or at your local butcher.
Bison is a leaner red meat.
It has around 25% fewer calories.
It's lower in fat and saturated fat.
It's more tender meat.
It's more sustainable meat and is grass-fed.
Bison is flavorful meat. It has a lighter and slightly sweeter taste compared to beef. It doesn't have a gamey taste.
16oz package bison meat
1 tbsp chopped onion
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp onion powder
Pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix until well-incorporated.
Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, form meatballs. Roll into balls and place on a prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all the meat is used.
Bake for 15 minutes, turning meatballs over halfway through.
Enjoy served over rice and carrots :)
